Welcome to the Goornong Primary School and thank you for visiting this page which includes information on enrolment.
School Tours & Parent Information Night
Unfortunately, due to the current situation with the coronavirus we are unable to hold school tours or our Parent Information Night. We are hoping to be able to conduct these later in 2020. In the meantime, prospective parents are encouraged to contact our school on (03) 5432 2236.
Our school provides a transition program for beginning foundation students during November and December of the year prior to these students beginning school. These are in addition to the statewide orientation day which takes place for all students in December. Please contact the school for further details.
If you are intending to enrol your child at Goornong Primary School for 2021, please contact the school directly on (03) 5432 2236.
Parents must supply the school with the following documents for full enrolment:
- A completed full enrolment form(ONLY available from the school office)
- A copy of your child’s birth certificate(the school will photocopy the original for you).
Birth certificates can be ordered from the Victorian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages.

This document is issued by the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register, on completion of their 4 year old vaccine.
Parents are encouraged to enrol their child by 31st July. However, our school will continue to take enrolments for 2021 beyond this date.
Prospective parents are encouraged to visit the ‘documents’ tab of our website to access copies of school policies.
Our School Zone
Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones for 2020 onwards.
Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.
The Department provides guidance through the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.
You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the Department’s website under School zones.
